Love these booties! The feminine ruffles on the back make the booties unique to me. I have seen this at a couple of websites, all offered different colors. The link above takes you to GoJane.com color shown is chestnut.

I would wear these with skinny jeans or leggings. They would also look cute in a short above the knee skirt. Go crazy with ruffles with the top for an ultra feminine look. Or keep it simple and let the ruffles on the back of the booties shine on their own.

I scoped this out at Urban Original. I love the color and texture of this shoe. I would get if it didn't have the pointed toe. I am just not a pointed shoe wearing sistah. I can't get with it. This shoe tempts me though. Also they could've taken the extra step and wrapped the heel in the faux snake skin as well. I like versatility in my clothing and shoes. These shoes to coordinate with several different outfits. I think my favorite way to wear these would be to spice up an all black look.

I thought it would be nice to start posting fashion lingo and vocabulary. I love to research and so I often will just have something pop into my mind and then start to search for things related to it. The word that hit me today was Stiletto.



If you love heels like me than the word is a familiar one. Not everyone woman who wear heels wear stilettos but I have not met a woman that has not, at some point, admired a pair. There's a history behind the word stiletto but for our purposes we will say that a stiletto is simply a high heel shoe where the heel is very slender. The ending tip of the heel should be a half inch or smaller.

I use to find stilettos hard to walk in. Mostly because of the weight I had gained. Now that I have lost a bit of weight and still losing (yay!) I find them easier to wear. However, the slender heels does make it a bit tricky to stand for long periods of time and to walk in. Practice, that's the key with this type of heel.

Learning About Myself

I have always like shopping. Handbags, shoes, and jewelry have been a weakness since childhood. But I went through quite a long period of not caring how I looked and definitively did not dress up or even put together. However, I find at this period in my life the shopping bug is back along with my desire to turn heads.

So what have I learned about myself. I have learned that I don't particularly like high fashion. What other rave about I think looks absolutely hideous and would not wear even if they gave it to me. All these years I thought I was daring turns out I'm pretty much a conservative dresser. I like sexy and I like daring but I don't mix prints or wear crazy tights with sandals. Who knew that the word conservative and me would go together?!

Tory Burch

Tory Burch is a fairly new designer. The official launch of her fashion label was in 2004. To read more about her and her line you can find some info by clicking this here. I love shoes, shoes and handbags! Tory Burch has a couple of really cute boots but I'm really not feeling most of what she has to offer. Here's my picks though:

The Parker by Hypnotic

Perhaps you have seen these Brian Atwood Loca Studded Pumps (picture for Net-A-Porter) in the Sex in the City 2 movie. Or maybe you are a member of Shoe Dazzle and have seen a verison of these shoes on their site like me.

Well I was too late to get this pumps for Shoe Dazzle so I went on the hunt. And yes...I found them and now own a verison of these oh so cute shoes.

Below the picture of the Loca Studded Pumps are The Parker by Hypnotic. Pretty similar right.

Okay, so usually I look up a company before I order anything. But sometimes I forget, this was the case here. I was looking for The Parker by Hypnotic. It's a very cute shoe that can be seen on the feet of many celebrities. The celebrity factor is not why I wanted the shoes. If you have read my previous posts you will see I am a member of Just Fabulous and Shoe Dazzle. On the main page of Shoe Dazzle there is this cute pair or turquoise studded heels. I didn't even know the name of them but after some searching I found similar pairs. This is wear amiclubwear.com comes into play. They had a pair marked down to $16. In my haste to get the shoes I didn't search the site.

It turns out that there are many complaints against this company. That is the first red flag. When I order my shoes (I got 5 pairs) I put in the shipping code but it didn't take. I didn't notice this until after I made my purchase. I immediately called the customer service number and after waiting for 10 minutes was told they could not help me and they were unable to cancel the order. Excuse me! The site says it can cancel and modify orders until 2pm pacific time. Now granted I made my order a little after 2pm pacific time but I called within minutes so it couldn't have been processed yet. That was a flat out lie. Red flag number 2. After reading the policy I called back and asked for a supervisor but the customer service woman would not transfer me. Instead she said she would sent my request to the refund department (they don't have their own number) and they would email me back but there's not guarantee that I will get my money back. Any decent company would honor a code if you call within minutes of your order the fact that they make you jump through hoops is red flag number 3.

After reading so many comments about customers not being refunded money, not having their order shipped, or having parts of their order shipped with items missing and no refund for those missing items as made me realize that I need to pay better attention to where I am ordering from. Hopefully, I will get my refund for the shipping, all of my items and be on my way. Regardless, I will not order from this site again. The fact that the customer service rep lied to me is enough to leave a bad taste in my mouth. There are people who have said they haven't had any problems. Some of them I think work for the company but some I do think are legit. If you order from this site just be aware that if there are issues that arises with your order you many not get a satisfactory response back.

Update!

I received all of my shoes on time. Did not receive my shipping refund but I reeally didn't think that I would. I am not sure that I will order from this company again. There are just too many complaints against them. As well as the customer service rep telling me a straight out lie. If you use this company just make sure you check everything before actually paying. Any mistakes with this company and your money is as good as gone!
