I'm No Slouch Bag by mark

I'm No Slouch Bag by mark

From the Avon/mark catalog:

Don’t let this bag’s über-relaxed shape fool you. In tones of black and bronze, it looks just as amazing when you’re dressed up as when you’re wearing jeans and a tee.

The specs: Faux leather. 30" L x 8 3/4" W x 15 3/8" H (10" handle drop).

My 2cents:
I wanted this bag when I first saw it but was not willing to pay the $30 (not sure if it was $30 or $35). Then I saw it in the Avon Outlet catalog and wouldn't you know it was an old catalog so I thought for sure it would be sold out. I order anyway and to my surprise it was still in stock.

When I first got it I loved it. The size is huge and I love a huge bag. The color is pretty. The shape is weird...loved that. I have been using this bag for weeks at a time.

Guess what I found out? The black is just plain old paint. And not even paint that has been sealed. How did I find this out? My hands sweat in the summer so I look down and my black have all these black specks on it. Not sure what it is so I ignore it. The next day same thing and I realized it was the black.

Shame Shame Shame on you mark/Avon. I am very disappointed with that aspect of the bag. I am a strong believer that just because something is inexpensive doesn't mean it shouldn't be quality made. There was another bag by mark that I wanted but because of the problems I had with the Gather Around Bag and now with this I'm No Slouch Bag I just don't want to waste my money. So if the bag goes down in price then I may purchase them but only for $10 or less (maybe $15). My 2 cents is save yours...spend the money elsewhere.

Revlon PhotoReady Foundation

Revlon PhotoReady Foundation

I wish I could be one of those women who doesn't need any foundation but I am not. I am working on evening out my skin tone and blemishes in the meantime, I wear foundation. I use to wear Lancome but they discontinued my shade.

I was thinking to of getting a foundation from Bobbi Brown. Then I thought about the line colors Avon has added to their foundations but I don't know anyone who sells it as I don't sell it anymore. I decided to try Revlon PhotoReady Foundation in Mocha. I didn't think it would work for my skin but it matches. So I just scored. $14 is a great priced compared to $40.

Update: I have been using this foundation for awhile now and it is very red. It's not so much of a big deal for me since I like red base foundations but if you have golden tones to your skin this is not for you. I do use a powder on top and that does balance out some of the red.

Find Of The Day

Find Of The Day

This is not necessarily a new find. I have seen this bag a while ago and you probably have to. It's still a bag that I like and may purchase at some point. I am talking about the Mia bag by Big Buddha. The big flower makes a feminine statement.

The second Big Buddha bag I am loving is the Daisy. Loving the ruffles. You could use this bag to add a bit of playfulness to an outfit. Or you could pair this bag with the ruffle booties.

Vanessa Collection Elana Wig

Hair Inspiration
Vanessa Collection Elana Wig
There was a time when I would have never worn a wig. That time as passed. I am in love with wigs now. I have gone natural. For those who do not know what that means, it means that I do not use a relaxer on my hair to straighten it.
Natural curly hair is actually fairly fragile. As I am growing my hair out I find it easier and quite beneficial to keep it braided and where either wigs or weaves. Even one my hair gets to the length that I want it I am sure I will continue to wear wigs.
I view wigs as a sort of accessory. Different outfits or looks require a different hairstyle. The easiest way to achieve these hairstyles is with wigs. Wigs have come a long way within the last few years. These are not your grandma or great grandma wigs. These beauties are looking more realistic every year and are priced affordably. You can look fierce from the neck down, the hair must be up to par too.
The wig above is very versatile. You can dress her (yes, I call the wig a her because they do evoke a type of personalty when you wear them) up wearing her with a cute cocktail dress and a partial up-do. Or dress her down with a cute tee and jeans. If you are new to wigs or on a budget, a versatile wig is a must.

Preppy Swag

Prep Swag

I love the urban look. A nice looking guy in a pair of slightly baggy, an over size t-shirt, a hoodie, fitted cap, and Timberland boots does it for me every time. However, there are those times when the occasion calls for something a little more polished.

The first picture is a long sleeve polo. Second picture of an argyle sweater. The third picture is of a classic button down shirt. You could wear these looks with a pair of slacks and dress shoes and look great. I like these looks with fitted jeans and a pair of Timberland boots (or any other type of boot [if you are going to diner black boots would probably be accepted as some places frown on the regular tan Timberlands]) but NOT with sneakers. I think a man still looks a bit more polish but still has that sexy edge that I like.

*The pictures shown are from Brooks Brothers. Certainly you can find this items are other stores but just like some ladies, there are some men who just love labels.

Above are two argyle sweater dresses. These would look so stunning with a cute pair of booties or knee high boots. If you are in a colder climate wear with a pair of nylons. Personally, I do not like regular stockings so I would wear thigh highs or leggings. Now some people would call it tacky or dare I say...high school-ish but I would definitively wear this if I were going out with my beau and he was wearing his argyle sweater.

***can find the websire where the picture with the girl in the sweater dress came from if anyone knows drop a line so that I can link it and give credit. I just love the way she's rocking that dress.

Bedroom Inspiration

Bedroom Inspiration

It has been a while since I posted anything that wasn't about shoes or clothing. As we know being fierce is not just about what you wear. Fierce is like swagga honey, it is the whole package. It's a lifestyle. So today we'll take it to the bedroom.

What is fierce about this room? Let's start with the bed as it is always the focal point of the room. I love this 4 poster bed. It seems easy enough to duplicate if you are the handy do-it-yourself type. If you have the time, equipment and skills to crave the post out using one of those word carving machine (the name escapes me at the moment) but really how many of us can do that. This is what I would do.
Purchase: different sizes of wood (plastic) balls in set of 4; 4 tall thin pipes (metal or pvc); 4 thick rectangle blocks, 4 wood boards (for the sides); at least 4 metal corner braces and screws.
Then I would drill a slightly larger hole in the center of every ball than the circumference of the pipes. Then using the picture as a guide I would assemble the pieces until they resembled the picture.
Next would be to find a four metal bowls or a pair of metal spheres that could be turned in to the two hanging lights.
With a painted accent wall, a large piece of artwork acting as a headboard, and then the rest of the usual bedroom funture pieces (varies depending on the size of your room) would complete the room nicely.
How could you not feel fierce walking into a room like this? Or dare I say...entertain in a room like this.

Knee High Timberland Boots

Knee High Timberland Boots
$150
If you live in a cold climate you know the need for a good warm boot for those cold snowy days. Timberland boots have long been a urban fashion stable. I would wear these boots with skinny jeans or jeggings. I would layer a cami with a light weight sweater on top (possibly with a cowl neck). I would also wear knee high socks that come over top of the boots. Whether you go funky or simple, these should be in your closet.
